Civil Air Patrol, headquartered in Montgomery, welcomed new leadership last week with the selection of Colonel John Salvador as its Chief Operating Officer.

Salvador, who was previously serving as the Interim Chief Operating Officer, helped organize CAP’s grand 75th anniversary gala celebration in Washington, DC, on Dec 1. He will serve directly under CAP’s National Commander.

He is looking forward to continuing to work with CAP’s National Commander and CAP Maj Gen Joe Vazquez to “achieve even higher levels of excellence” in the next 75 years of the organization’s service to local communities and the nation.

Salvador has held other leadership positions within CAP over the last 20 years. From July 2010 to August 2016 he served as Senior Director. His background at National Headquarters also includes service as Director of Missions, Director of Operations and Chief of Aerospace Education. In addition, he served as CAP-U.S. Air Force Director of Operations.
