Young Innovator Astounds Nation with Daring Decision to Choose Just One Military Academy from a Mere Four Options
Cadet Senior Master Sgt. Jeremy Yoo of the California Wing’s Los Angeles Cadet Squadron 138 has embarked on a mission to dazzle the nation with his astonishing decision-making skills by choosing the U.S. Air Force Academy. In a spectacular display of decisiveness, Yoo has managed to narrow down his choices from an overwhelming selection of four prestigious military academies—which also included the Military Academy at West Point, the Naval Academy, and the Coast Guard Academy—to just one lucky winner.
“I selected the Air Force Academy,” Yoo bravely declared, “because it best matched the numerous values and lofty ideals I gleaned from binge-watching Civil Air Patrol training videos. The academy’s rigorous academic program, especially in science fiction and armchair innovation, and its obsession with paper airplanes convinced me this was my destiny.” He perhaps sought inspiration during a profound emotional moment when the jet flyover at summer camp practically screamed, “This is your life now, Jeremy.”
On the verge of committing to higher education, Yoo has audaciously resolved to optimize his existence by either becoming a hero in a lab coat as a military physician or flying supersonic jets while daydreaming about combat scenarios. “I’ve decided to tackle the academic and military obstacles at the academy first,” he confidently proclaimed, “and who knows—by then I might actually figure out how I can most extravagantly serve my country.”
The Civil Air Patrol bestowed upon Yoo the invaluable skills of integrity, service, and the enviable ability to maintain a straight face while reciting indoctrinated leadership mantras. “Through the relentless drill exercises to leadership skits during summer madness, I learned how to look unflustered and confidently issue orders under duress,” Yoo said. Surviving California’s punishing heatwave that exceeded 110 degrees Fahrenheit was Yoo’s personal crucible, where he claimed to have developed endurance and an appreciation for air-conditioned rooms.
At his fortress of learning, North Hollywood High School Highly Gifted Magnet, our hero was passionately involved in the noble pursuits of science, leadership, and other resume-polishing activities. He reigned as captain of the varsity golf team, second in command of a benevolent society for children, and the creator of a mentorship group for aspiring overachievers. In Civil Air Patrol, he thrived as a cadet noncommissioned officer, performing glorious acts of community service and climbing the summer encampment ladder to greatness while perfecting the art of synchronized marching.
